In June 2011, the company announced restructuring plans in which it would restructure its business into four market-based franchises and focus its R&D on its peptide and tocin-based technologies. The company also planned to merge its R&D departments and close its Barcelona, Spain R&D center.The company planned to create four franchises: Endocrinology/Somatuline (lanreotide depot); Neurology/Dysport (abobotulinumtoxinA); Uro-oncology/Decapeptyl (triptorelin pamoate); and Hemophilia.
